HDFC Bank, India's largest private sector bank, was operating its workforce on legacy, non-AI-powered devices that created meaningful friction in daily operations. Routine tasks such as report generation took several minutes, while document retrieval and multilingual translation consumed disproportionate staff time. As part of an ambitious digital transformation strategy, the bank's leadership set concrete goals: accelerate routine workload execution, shorten project delivery cycles, and raise employee satisfaction by equipping staff with responsive, future-ready tools. The cumulative cost of these inefficiencies extended beyond productivity loss — it constrained the workforce's capacity to focus on higher-value customer-facing work.
Wipro partnered with Intel to design and execute a phased Proof of Concept deploying the Wipro Intelligence™ suite on Intel® Core™ Ultra powered AI PCs equipped with integrated Neural Processing Units (NPUs). The suite includes three purpose-built tools: Document Translator for real-time multilingual document translation, KnowDeskAI for intelligent semantic document search, and IntellexFlow AI for AI-assisted process design and automation. By offloading AI inference to the GPU/NPU directly on-device, the deployment eliminates cloud dependency — keeping sensitive financial data local and satisfying India's data sovereignty requirements. Wipro also coordinated employee onboarding, designated AI champions for peer mentoring, and worked with HDFC's IT team to validate full-disk encryption and remote device management controls throughout the rollout.
