Following Orco Bank's acquisition of CIBC FirstCaribbean, the group's IT team faced an unmanageable influx of physical documents — customer files, loan agreements, and collateral documents — that needed to be digitized, renamed, and categorized under a hard regulatory deadline. Manual processing was already overwhelmed before the acquisition, and physical document storage on the island of Aruba represented significant ongoing costs for rent, compliance, and outsourcing.
Orco Group deployed Fisent BizAI, an Applied GenAI Process Automation platform, to classify, split, extract, and process hundreds of thousands of unstructured physical documents. BizAI integrated with the bank's existing enterprise infrastructure with minimal disruption and trained staff to proficiency in the specific use case within a few hours. The platform uses GenAI to bridge the enterprise application layer with LLMs, automating document interpretation across unstructured, multi-language, and multimodal content.
BizAI achieved a 90% decrease in errors compared to prior manual processes and reduced document processing time by more than 70%, processing up to 10,000 unstructured documents per day. Faster ingestion curtailed physical storage costs, and the digitized data enabled proactive customer service such as notifying customers of upcoming loan expirations with pre-approved offers. The success generated six new project requests from different departments across the Orco Group.
